We test the new Kawasaki Teryx
Last weekend Feature Editor Robin Stover got a chance to test out the newest Side x Side to hit the market. Highly anticipated by enthusists everywhere this new RUV blurs the lines between utility and sport.
Powered by a 749cc 90-degree V-twin engine, the same engine that gives the Brute Force 750 quad it's oomph, the new Teryx has no problem getting up to run with the big dogs. Complete with 26-inch Maxxis tires, a selectable front locker, spooled rear and a 2-speed CVT transmission the Teryx will likely be well suited for rock crawlers and sand blasters alike.
Stover punished the new Teryx through the sand dunes near St George, Utah until his whole body was sore. Running it flat out at 48 MPH through washes and slowing it down to a crawl in technical rocky section gave Stover a well-rounded understanding of "Team Green's" newest offering. "Overall I'm impressed with the new Teryx, I even managed to flop it over on it's side at one point, the thing is just tough." Stover assures that no damage resulted in his misshap.
