We're discussing new FW events for 2008. What would you like to see?

As many of you know, we canceled our Real Truck Club Challenge this year as we reorganized our events department for 2008. Now, we're sitting down and discussing what kinds of events or shows (if any) we should hold in the coming year. Should we:

Bring back Real Truck?

Host a Mudfest?

Hold a Rockcrawling competition?

A stadium race?

How about a Tough Truck race?

A good old-fashioned truck show?

Monsters?

Something else? And where should we hold these events?

Now's your chance to tell us. What kinds of would you like to see Four Wheeler get involved in, and where and when would you like to see them?

2. Bring back RTCC! Please! I'll bring my Dodge back out. I'll bring my Wrangler out. I'll bring beer and strippers.
OK, maybe I cannot bring strippers, but please bring back RTCC. It was a fantastic event, and the ONLY event aimed at the core of our hobby: real trucks. The kind that don't belong on trailers, and don't require Bill Gates checkbook to build. I was honored to be invited in 2004, and I'd love nothing more than another chance.

6. I say, do the "Average Joe Challenge." Don't make club membership a prerequisite. Allow up to 4 buddies to help out, though. The one requirement would be to carry 24 cans of cold beer on board at all times. If the cooler or cans fall out of the truck at any time, it's automatic disqualification. Winner gets to squirt the crowd with a shaken-up can of beer. :-)

7. Well, you all know I would love to see RTCC come back! I can understand some not wanting to have tobe part of a club, but at least make sure you keep it with street legal full bodied rigs. Also, what about having it at different locations around the country every year, so it will be harder for a team to have an advantage.

8. Actually, if you define a club as 'two or more people who call themselves a club' then any group of buddies that enters is a club.

11. I vote for RTCC as well. I had a blast. I would also like to see it held differnt places...for one to not allow home field advantage to the same region year after year. I would also be much more strict in "real truck" terms...last year there were a few trucks that I wouldn't have concidered "real"....I think a good starting point would be that the frame and body have to be of the same model/year/make; example no toyota bodies on dodge frames, or home made frames under jeep bodies.

Thanks for looking to the readers for input...it means a lot....

12. I vote to bring back RTCC. I was at the 06 and loved it. But I also believe holding it in different locations or even have a couple of regionals with the winner from each one then travels to a national event.

14. OHHHH.. I like the regional idea....then have the championship somewhere central. 4wheeler could ask a fabshop or local club in each region to run regional stuff and just send a photographer to get some shots...then the big show at one of 4 places, one in each region, rotating each year.... I would think that Riverrock ORV in GA would be more than willing to host the big event in the Southeast....

15. Another idea for an even would be open up the H2our de Force to some readers. Like Peterson's Ultimate Adventure, just keep it all camping. Also keep it No Trailered rigs!! Whatever you guys decide, sign me up! Had a blast last year and I know anything you guys put together will be 1st class and top notch!
