1. How about a cell phone so that you can walk a few miles to get reception when the timing belt comes off on your way to the sand. not saying that it happened to me, just saying.

2. Having an ABC fire extinguisher can't hurt.
If not needed for the trucks it could be used on a campfire gone bad.

3. A good pair of hiking shoes is a must have. Just incase you have to hike a couple 15 miles for that cell phone reception.

6. Also consider getting a ham radio license. The range on the radios is a lot better then CB and the effort to got the license is minimal.

7. alright i got a few. CB radio should be a must, have another person wheelin' with you in case you get stuck and there aren't any nearby trees to winch to and also if you get into any trouble. A Hi-Jack would be useful, a dependable winch, a hatchet or some type of cutting device for if you break down in the middle of nowhere and you need to make a fire.

8. I carry a E-tool (entrenching tool) that has got me out of more troubles then I can think..you can use it for everything. Shovel, Axe, Cheater bar, Frying pan, Hammer, etc the lists goes on. You can pick po\ one up at a surplus store, don't get one of the spinoffs they sell at these supercenters. Get the real thing

9. when i go out and wheel my ranger i bring: a highlift jack with the offroad base and bumper mount, tow straps, jumpers, an extra cb whip is always good, water and food

10. Each of these are under $100 (most are under $50):
2 or 3 straps including a tree saver
Come-Along hand winch,
Receiver hitch clevis or tow hooks front & rear.
Spare food & water (granola & jerky).
Emergency blanket & First aid kit.
foldable saw and shovel
hi-Lift jack with 2'x2'x1" plywood
Jumper cables
Plug in air compressor
air pressure guage
Map
Compass
Full tank of gas
Extra spark plug wire and belt
socket set & a few basic hand tools
Can O Fix-A-Flat
Spare tire with air
lighter fluid
matches

11. Two things I haven't seen listed are tylenol/aspirin and TOILET PAPER!
I have found these two to be very helpful at times.

12. all of the things listed are good to have, but noone listed the nicested things of all......a flashlight with good batteries. and you can never have too many lights on your truck in new england!

13. The best thing I had this summer was a extra set of wheel studs and lug nuts. They came in handy when a friend noticed that he had 2 broken ones just before we left camp for a day of trail riding.
