Now I have seen it all....

If you are reading this then that must mean that you are an off-roader. And being an off-roader these past couple of years you would have witnessed the rise and fall of the Golf Cart craze as well as the rise of the Rhino craze. Well I am here to tell you that it has now gone to far.

Yamaha Rhino

Rhinos are the ever popular Utility Vehicle built by Yamaha. Over the past year the aftermarket has responded to their growing popularity by building suspension kits, shocks, tires and wheels, roll cages, and even custom bodies for these expensive toys. But after seeing these at the SEMA show this year it is official that we have lost our minds.

Now I know what you are thinking, you’re thinking I’m an idiot. It snows in most of the world, so why not build a track kit for the Rhino? Well here is my reasoning. With a dry weight of nearly 1100lbs and a loaded weight (two people and gear) of nearly 1600lbs how much further into the snow and how much deeper of snow is this behemoth actually going to be able to go through with tracks instead of its standard all-terrain tires?

Lets face it, the majority of Rhino owners are either using them for their intended utility purpose either on the farm or on the ranch, or they are using them in the desert. If you want to blast around in the snow why not buy a snowmobile? You can pick up a 2 seat snowmobile for half the price of a stock Rhino, not even counting the thousands you would spend on tracks.

Am I just spoiled by not having to deal with snow? Or am I just ignorant? Post your reply and let me know what you think!
